Where is Morristown NJ?

A question I hear a lot when I am out of the area is Where is Morristown NJ?  Morristown NJ is located in Morris County NJ and is the county seat of Morris County.

Morristown is located in the north central part of New Jersey.  It is centrally located seven miles south of the interchange of Interstate 287 and Interstate 80.  It is located just three miles from Route 24, providing a drive of less than an hour to New York City.  Alternately, Morristown also has a NJ Transit train into New York Penn Station.  The Convent Station in Morris Township is also close by. Morristown NJ is located about 30 miles from New York City and about 80 miles to Philadelphia.

Morristown was known as one of the first “transit villages” in New Jersey.  Zoning was changed in 2000 to provide more development of transit-friendly construction in Morristown NJ including several mixed-use condominium developments.

Morristown, NJ is only 40 miles to ski mountains and ski resorts located in the Poconos in Pennsylvania.  Driving east, Morristown, NJ is only about 60 miles from the great beaches of the Jersey shore.

When asked where is Morristown NJ, when traveling outside of the area especially in south Jersey, many people confuse it Norristown PA, which is located near King of Prussia.

With its great location close to New York, skiing, beaches and more, it is hard to believe anyone would ask, where is Morristown NJ?
